The Project Brief
The client wanted a new responsive website to demonstrate the range of their services. The site needed to contain a much greater amount of content than their existing site, in order to reflect the breadth of work that the company could carry out and also to showcase past projects.
They were keen to improve their rankings in organic search results, and due to the nature of their business, it was crucial that there was a focus on local SEO. It was also important that the site reassured potential customers about the firm’s trustworthiness and legislative compliance.
Client
A Cambridgeshire-based, family-run electrical services business. Responsible for providing skilled & qualified electricians to both domestic and commercial customers.
The Solution
We started by working closely with Multicraft Electrical Services to fully understand their business and what results they sought from the website. This process was made easier by the fact that Multicraft had a clear understanding of what they were trying to achieve, i.e. to build their customer base in the geographical region in which they operated.
Insite Web suggested the production of a number of ‘regional pages’ for the new website. Containing unique copy, these pages would focus on key locations in a bid to drive up Multicraft’s visibility in local search results. Our copywriters combined information about the local area with details of Multicraft’s previous projects in order to demonstrate the company’s geographical reach.
In addition, we ensured that the site was fully responsive in order to fully capitalise on the increased use of mobile devices. Insite Web also performed a local citation audit to check that information across a range of directories was correct and consistent.

Multicraft Electrical Services were provided with a clear responsive website that provided customers with an enhanced customer journey for whichever electrical services they required.
The site had pages and copy designed to target the local area. Outlining the key services and points of difference that made them unique and, crucially, the geographic areas the company operates in.

Multicraftservices.co.uk ranks in the top 3 of the Google Map Pack for all relevant local electrician related and geographic based searches.
The new website has moved on to the first page in search engines for many of their key services. They rank in Google: –
- First for all brand related terms and variants
- First for all Kimbolton electrical and electrician terms
- First locally for all commercial electrical and electrical contractor terms
They also rank on the first page for lots of relevant terms outside their local area, in Google they rank: –
- In the top 5 for commercial electrical contractor terms in Huntingdon
- In the top 10 for electrician terms in Huntingdon
The result of this process is a significant increase in awareness, traffic and relevant business lead generation from the Multicraft Electrical Services website.
