The Project Brief
We were approached by a group of people who had seen the work we had undertaken on the Comet Support website and wanted to offer something similar for anyone who was going through the redundancy process.
Their brief was for the site to set out in a clear format how the redundancy process worked and what support was available. There was to be a particular focus on group redundancy, and on those who had received little or no notice.
Client
Redundancy Aid is a one stop website created in the wake of high-profile retail administrations such as Comet & HMV. It provides easy-to-understand advice on the redundancy process and the support available.
The Solution
Focussing on the theme of support, we created a brand image using the colour green combined with a cross to reference the imagery used to denote first aid.
The site is a WordPress category driven website that sets out the journey through redundancy for individuals. It takes a chronological form; starting with being notification of redundancy, moving through to what financial recompense can be claimed, and which companies and charities provide support.
At each stage the potential pitfalls are highlighted, along with the obligations an employer must adhere to, together with information about what to do if these processes are not adhered to.
We worked with the client on the copy, content and imagery, along with keyword research and SEO for the entire site. We also produced an off line document that can be printed via the website to help guide people through the redundancy process.

The Results
The fully responsive site not only fulfilled the brief, it actually exceeded the expectations that the team had around how user friendly this process could be.
Despite having no access to any real SEO budget, Insite Web created an initial set-up that ranks very highly on the first page of Google for several key terms around redundancy (including redundancy aid, redundancy PILON, redundancy help), outranking older sites with higher Domain Authority.
