The Consultancy Brief
With a series of websites built and hosted by various different agencies on different platforms over several years, plus a recent sub brand launch that they felt could have been more successful digitally, Vestel asked for our review of their infrastructure.
Their brief was to streamline and bring elements of their digital infrastructure in house, allowing them to take more control of their digital destiny and reduce costs. With many digital projects potential under consideration over the short to long term, they wanted broad expertise to investigate, specify and potentially manage these processes.
Client
The UK-based subsidiary of the Turkish appliance & consumer electronics manufacturer. The largest TV producer in Europe.
The Solutions
Our first priority was to gain abroad understanding and map of all the websites and infrastructure being used. We met with internal stakeholders to facilitate the mapping and then began a program of meeting with 3rd parties to review their processes and the projects.
At each stage we fed back to the senior stakeholders at Vestel UK, offering detailed solutions and recommendations on how to streamline the operations and maximise performance.
Where information wasn’t available we recommended an approach of measurement first, so that all decisions could be data and insights driven rather than guesswork.
This led to further consolidation and replacing the ad hoc sites with standardised platforms that could be developed and maintained easily. We then embarked on a process of centralising websites and domains on the same hosting setup, plus consolidating agencies and moving work in house where possible.
We then reviewed the proposed developments and projects to understand what the reasons driving them were. We assessed each project to see if it addressed the digital needs of the Vestel business and produced RFPs (requests for proposals) to allow scientific ROI analysis of tenders.
Services
The Results
We implemented the infrastructure changes and consolidated their hosting and domains, we also used our experience to recruit digital experts for internal positions to allow in house control of web and marketing projects, which significantly reduced costs.
We also ascertained that a pricing tool would help not only the digital teams, but allow Vestel to interrogate the market and help in their account pitching work with retailers. We used our contacts and experience to deliver a solution that exceeded expectations and at a significantly lower cost than the market rate card.
We ran a project to automate their ERP / finance system invoicing and credit notes generation for ecommerce, which vastly reduced manual input and time to reconcile this channel. We worked up RFPs and deployed cost effective solutions for email marketing, multi channel product reviews and warranty sales automation.
The speed and agility we brought to the processes led to several other projects being planned, many of which we tendered for and won.
What Our Client Said
“Insite Web’s consultancy services offered a cost-effective way to review and consolidate our digital offering. They were totally transparent and made it clear when they thought an option or proposal was not worthwhile. They really do base everything on ROI analysis.”
